The Society Trouser, is based on a timeless 1940’s era pleated wide-leg trouser. Featuring an incredible double inverted pleat, back darting, slant pockets, short tab tall waistband with front zip closure and belt loops. This is a high-waisted style with a long rise in order to achieve the correct drape on the pleats from the waist. I’ve included a special menswear trick on the interior of the pant - extra seam allowance has been added to the center back seam and the waistband has been extended inside so you have the option to alter this trouser up to 2” wider at the waist for any weight fluctuations. All you need is a skilled seamstress.

*As of 2025 there is an excellent fit update through the hip from previous versions - an extra 2” of volume per side (4” total) has been added for ease through the hip pleating. If you have any concerns regarding the extra volume, don’t hesitate to reach out!

The Society Culotte features the exact same details as the Trouser, except for an inseam difference of 8” shorter meant to land above the ankle.

To measure :

• WAIST - Our waistline at Revelle sits at your high waist, which is where your waist is smallest. Measure around the smallest part of your waist while standing then compare to your waist measurement when sitting. We typically suggest to wear a waistband that is 1.5-2” larger than your actual waist.

• LOW-WAIST - Measure around the largest part of your low waist, which begins 6” lower than your high waist.

• HIP - Measure around the largest part of your hip while standing then compare to your hip measurement when sitting. This trouser is cut to have generous room compared to your hip measurement to allow the pleating direction to lay straight.

• THIGH - Measure around the largest part of your thigh, which typically begins 4” lower than your crotch.

• INSEAM - Take this measurement from the crotch down to your desired length on your leg. We suggest wearing a pair of any favorite pants or jeans when taking this measurement to assist - begin at the crotch where all 4 seams meet in the center.
