How does Revelle inflict on-going positive change?

It is our hope that we can create a better world and future by committing to anti-racist work. To be clear about where Revelle stands : black lives matter. black women, black men, non-binary black individuals and black trans individuals matter.

Revelle is committed to be present, listen and learn from black individuals. ways in which we are proud to support, regardless of profit, are monthly donations to the following organizations :

The Loveland Foundation therapy fund - providing mental health services to black women and girls

the aclu - The american civil liberties union - fighting government abuse by defense of individual freedoms for speech, racial rights, privacy rights, women’s rights and so much more.

We are committed to dismantling oppressive systems within our immediate fashion community, where our expertise is at it’s best. there are many oppressive systems within the world of fashion - fashion relies almost entirely on the work of bipoc to exist. the conditions, safety, hours and wages garment workers suffer from are unjust. it is our PRIVILEGE to push for equity.

we are invested in supporting the garment worker protection act which californians can vote on this fall. the act ensures the wage laws change for garment workers - as it currently stands, workers are being unfairly paid per piece, meaning employers are able to pay their workers far below minimum wage per hour. it is imperative that california passes sb1399 so workers are fairly paid an fair hourly wage.

From the Garment Worker Act Page :

"SB 1399 will strengthen current law to ensure protections of garment worker rights in three ways. It will: 1) expand liability, ensuring that retailers cannot use layers of contracting to avoid liability; 2) prohibit the use of paying garment workers by the “piece,” thereby eliminating a significant obstacle to workers being paid minimum wage and also protecting their health and safety; and 3) explicity authorize the Labor Commissioner’s Bureau of Field Enforcement (BOFE) to investigate and cite guarantors for wage theft."
